THE PLAY STATION – PORTABLE

Technology has
advanced to such an extent in the last 25 years, that there has been a virtual evolution in the world of communication. The
newest invention in this field is the Play Station Portable or P.S.P. designed
by the Japanese company Sony.
In 1975 Sony
invented "the world of portable electronics" when it released the walkman and video cassette player. Not being content to replicate this in hand held game systems like Nintendo D.S. had done, Sony designed
the Play Station Portable, which has immense potential.
The P.S.P. has
a wide screen monitor taking up the entire width of the device. This marvelous wireless device can be used to store digital photos, music, video and has games. It even has an internet browser.
It is an all
in one wizard. One can play a number of games. Some of these games are awesome
and very challenging. One can see UMD movies such as the Harry Potter films.
Cripshift, F
1 Grand prix, FIFA 06 and FIFA Manager are my favourites.
These are full
length movies that are normally seen on a big screen.
One can download MP3, MP4,
and Wavor at Rac3 + music files onto the P.S.P. system. The graphics are sharp and focused, and the sound system is amazingly
clear.
Technologically
it is very well designed. It is light in weight and easy to carry, it has a sleek C.D. screen that displays 16.77 million
colours, but the screen is vulnerable to extensive damage; one has to be very careful with it.
P.S.P’s
are quite expensive for the common man, thus their reach is restricted to the wealthy only, as yet.
